Emmy

The ABC News special, “Iraq:  Where Things Stand,” has been nominated for “Best Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast” and “Outstanding Continuing Coverage of a News Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast.”  The news special uses public opinion poll data from fieldwork condcuted by KA Research Limited. It illuminates the conditions in Iraq just before the March 2007 US troop surge.

The feature’s prime source of information revolves around ABC’s analysis of public opinion data collected by KA Research Limited and D3 Systems throughout Iraq’s eighteen provinces. In 2006 ABC News won the inaugural Iowa Gallup Award for Excellent Journalism Using Polls from the University of Iowa School of Journalism and The Gallup Organization; and the 2006 National Council on Public Polls Award for Excellence in Media Coverage of Polls.

The 2008 Emmy Award winners will be announced in a ceremony at the Frederick P. Rose Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City on September 22.
